TOP STORY
🎉 Webflow makes “GSAP” 100% free

This week, Webflow announced that the GreenSock Animation Platform (GSAP) is now completely free for everyone, following their acquisition of the tool in late 2024.

  • What is GSAP? GSAP is a powerful animation library that allows designers to effortlessly animate practically anything — this includes scrolling, morphing, text animations, and creating polished UI interactions.

  • Previously, GSAP operated on a freemium model, and the paid GSAP memberships would cost developers anywhere from $99 to several hundred dollars annually, depending on the plan and team size.

GSAP is widely recognized for powering animations on a vast number of websites, with sources citing its use on over 12 million sites, including more than 50% of award-winning websites, as of recent estimates.

The update includes:

  • Full access to GSAP and all previously paid Club plugins, like SplitText and ScrollTrigger, at zero cost.

  • An expanded standard license allowing commercial use without restrictions.

  • Seamless integration of GSAP plugins into Webflow’s ecosystem, hosted directly for easy use.

  • 14 new features in total, including an improved SplitText plugin.

This move levels up web animation for developers and designers, making it easier to build dynamic, engaging websites without breaking the bank.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
🤯 Runway releases “Gen-4 References”

Runway has rolled out “Gen-4 References,” a game-changing feature for its AI video generation platform, now available to all paid plans.

This tool lets creators use up to three reference images to maintain consistent characters, locations, and styles across multiple video outputs, solving a major pain point in AI-driven creation.

With Gen-4 References, you can:

  • Upload a single image to keep a character’s look consistent across different angles, lighting, or outfits.

  • Combine multiple references for complex scenes, blending characters and environments seamlessly.

  • Generate dynamic 5-second or 10-second video clips with realistic motion, using natural language prompts to describe camera movements or actions.

This feature makes it easier than ever to craft cohesive narratives, whether you’re storyboarding a short film or designing a branded campaign.

MUSIC
🎶 Suno releases “v4.5”

This week, Suno dropped v4.5 for Pro and Premier users, pushing AI music creation to new heights.

This update delivers more expressive music, with richer vocals, smarter genre blending, and a prompt enhancement helper that turns vague ideas into detailed song instructions.

Here’s what’s new in v4.5:

  • You can now create songs in more genres and generate different types of mashups (e.g., blending styles like Midwest emo + neosoul or EDM).

  • There are now more complex, textured sounds with layered instruments and sonic details (e.g., prompts like “leaf textures” or “melodic whistling”).

  • A new prompt enhancement helper to transform vague ideas into fully-formed prompts.

  • A new “Covers + Personas” feature that allows users to create Covers while retaining melodic detail and similar styles with “Personas.”

  • Generate songs up to 8 minutes long, up from 4 minutes, without using Extend.
