⚙️ Adobe releases “Bulk Create”

Adobe released a new feature in Adobe Firefly called “Bulk Create” which allows users to edit up to 10,000 images in just one click.

  • This tool can automatically remove, replace, or extend image backgrounds in large batches, making it a game-changer for marketers and creatives.

  • It’s especially useful for tasks like resizing images for social media platforms or creating multiple versions of product shots for e-commerce.

The tool is user-friendly, requiring no coding skills, and supports file formats like PNG and JPEG, with plans to add Photoshop (.PSD) support in the future.

The tool is split into two main features:

  • ✂️ Remove Background: The first allows users to quickly strip backgrounds from images, while the second uses AI to stretch backgrounds to fit preset dimensions for platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

  • 🖼️ Resize: Although the resizing feature still has some kinks to work out, it’s a time-saver for designers handling repetitive tasks.

Adobe is also rolling out other AI-powered tools, like video dubbing and automated layout design, to streamline creative workflows.

🤖 U.S. Copyright Office says AI-generated content can be copyrighted

📸 Kristen Radtke / The Verge

This week, the U.S. Copyright Office has clarified that purely AI-generated works (like images created from text prompts) cannot be copyrighted because they lack human authorship.

However, works that combine AI-generated content with significant human creativity—such as editing, arranging, or modifying AI outputs—can still qualify for copyright protection.

For example: A comic book using AI-generated images paired with human-written text or a film with AI-enhanced effects can be copyrighted, though the AI elements alone cannot.

The Copyright Office emphasized that AI tools can assist in the creative process without undermining copyright eligibility, as long as human input remains central.

  • This includes using AI for brainstorming, drafting, or refining ideas.

  • However, simply entering prompts into AI systems like MidJourney or DALL-E doesn’t grant authorship rights, as the user doesn’t control the final output.

  • The office also noted that while AI can enhance creativity, it won’t extend copyright protection to fully machine-generated works.

For now, the message is clear: human creativity remains essential for copyright protection, even in the age of AI.

📱 Twitch releases “Clips” exporting for Instagram

This week, Twitch has introduced a new feature allowing users to edit and export clips from livestreams directly to Instagram.

  • This update (rolling out to all channels this week) lets creators edit and share their favorite moments from livestreams on Instagram.

  • Twitch first introduced this “Clip Editor” tool in 2023, allowing users to edit clips for TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

While it’s unclear how much this will benefit Twitch’s gaming-focused audience, the move makes sense as Instagram gains traction amid TikTok’s uncertain future.

The feature aims to help creators reach broader audiences by making it easier to share highlights across multiple platforms.
