👀 Adobe announces “Content Authenticity”
This week, Adobe announced a new free web app, “Content Authenticity,” designed to help creators protect their work and ensure proper attribution through “Content Credentials.”
These credentials function as a “nutrition label” for digital content, allowing creators to attach metadata that tracks the origin and edits of their work.
With 3,700+ members backing the initiative, Adobe has positioned Content Credentials as the top tool for fighting misinformation and deepfakes and helping publishers and consumers check if digital content is real.
Despite the strong support behind this initiative, this program is entirely voluntary, making its success dependent on securing support from more tech and AI companies.
💡 “Attribution” refers to giving proper credit to creators by attaching information, such as their name and details, to their digital work.
If a website removes or fails to display Content Credentials, users can manually check this information using Adobe’s web app.
So, how exactly does this work?
The new web app will simplify the process of applying Content Credentials to digital media, including images, audio, and video, and will integrate with popular Adobe Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop and Lightroom.
Essentially, the tool allows creators to control the information that is attached to their work, such as names, websites, and social media links.
📆 The web app will launch in public beta in Q1 2025 and will require a free Adobe account (no active Adobe subscription is required).
Additionally, a “Generative AI Training and Usage Preference” was announced, giving creators the power to opt their work out of AI training.

💻️ Figma rolls out “UI 3” to everyone, plus new animations and fonts
Figma has officially rolled out “UI3,” a redesigned interface that is available to all users. During the beta phase, those who prefer the previous layout can still revert back to it.
Figma initially launched UI3 at “Config” in June but received negative criticism —it has been making updates based on user feedback ever since.
Here’s what’s new changes have been implemented:
Clip Content: Changed from a dropdown to a checkbox for easier access.
Constraints: Now displayed inline in the properties panel for quick edits.
Blend Modes: Changes to the default blend mode are now shown inline in the properties panel.
Auto Layout: In width and height inputs, pixel values are visible alongside resize modes (hug or fill).
Components library info: This shows whether a component is local in the properties panel.
More layer actions: The layers header shows three actions by default and four when expanded, with key actions like masks and boolean operations highlighted.
Fixed panels: Navigation and properties panels are docked on either side of the canvas, while the toolbar remains floating at the bottom across all products.
Additionally, Figma added 450 brand-new Google Fonts to its app for users to pick from, as well as new “Spring” animations via the Lottie Files plugin 👇
