Segment Anything Model 2

Meta just launched the Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM 2), a powerful new tool for identifying and tracking objects in images and videos.

The new version is a game-changer for video editors.

It can handle the complexities of moving objects, changing appearances, and overlapping scenes, making tasks like cutting out objects, adding effects, and creating dynamic scenes much easier.

Meta is sharing this technology with the community, along with a massive database of 50,000 annotated videos, so anyone can experiment and find new ways to use it.

🤖 Canva Acquires AI Startup, Leonardo AI

This week, Canva announced the acquisition of Leonardo.Ai, a generative AI platform, to further enhance its suite of visual AI tools.

  • Leonardo.Ai will continue to operate independently, serving its millions of users, including business clients.

  • Canva will integrate Leonardo and its foundational AI models into Canva’s “Magic Studio” products, such as the AI image and video generator Magic Media.

  • This acquisition comes just a few after acquiring Adobe Creative Cloud competitor, “Affinity.”

Canva also announced it will expand its ongoing partnership with Getty Images as part of its $200 million content fund to develop responsibly trained generative AI tools.

💻️ Framer Releases “Fetch,” Add Dynamic Content to Your Websites

Framer just launched Fetch, a new feature that lets you add dynamic data to your Framer Site using APIs without writing any code.

To use Fetch, simply click the + on the Content property of any Text Layer, select the new Add Fetch option, enter your API URL, and choose the data you want via the Path field.

Fetch automatically handles data requests, caching, and deduplication for you.
